Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been a TV host, journalist, philanthropist and author for over ten years. Her role also includes being the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Originating from Greece she moved to England when she was 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it at the age of 21. Her popularity as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she finished her degree. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online platform for voice that gave critiques of the state of the nation's politics. It was her celebrity that helped to attract several prominent contributors to share their views on current events political, culture and politics. Arianna's celebrity status started in 2003, after she was a candidate for an independent for the California recall vote to replace the then governor Davis. Additionally she also led the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes named her one of the "most powerful women" within the field of media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 top media personalities in 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media company, which also included a number of existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli, who are both management consultants and journalists. While she was very close to her father it was her relationship with her mother that shaped her life. Even during her formative period, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which she is still well-known. At the age of 16, she moved to Britain for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only president from outside the country. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. After her graduation she became a columnist, critic and a host on TV. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
